This past week I packed up a single box of flies to throw in my glove box for a cross-country road trip to visit my family in Northwest NJ. This is something I've done dozens of times in years past when I was driving cross country for Douglas Outdoors, managing sales from the company sprinter van. I would be so crammed with gear and a dog that I would barely have have room for a single box of flies.
It's always nice to have a working box of flies that can be rigged up to pullout and hit any piece of fishy looking water. I took 120 of my personal favorite flies and arranged them into this new Tandem Fly Co. Dry Dropper Box.
These aren't just any random flies. These are patterns that are proven to catch trout and become even more effective when fished in tandem combinations. I assembled this box to "match the food" instead of an exact "match the hatch" style box. There is any number of combinations that can effectively fish deep pockets, shallow riffles, slow pools and even still waters.
This is a no-nonsense assortment that has the best attractor nymphs, jigs, emergers and various midges, eggs, worms and scuds that trout often prefer during the colder months with lower insect activity.
The Tandem Fly Co Dropper Box allows you to pre-tied all your favorite combinations to save you time and cold fingers on the river! I even picked 6 good combo's to tied up and start with.
A lot of these flies are from my personal bench and are not on the website yet. This is first come, first sold! The Tandem Fly Co Dropper box is valued at $40

Meet the Guanaja Fly Tyers Guild. They are the primary supplier and designers for Guide Flies and the inspiration to pass on the art of fly tying to this incredibleisland community.
It started by recognizing the natural fly tying talent that existed in the community of Guanaja. The guides and family members of the Fly Fish Guanaja staff had learned the basics of fly tying and made creative flies for technical permit and bonefish that were not easily fooled.
Over the the last three years they have worked hard to perfect their craft. What began as an experiment in the beach front cabana, has turned into one of the greatest small business opportunities for the Island of Guanaja.
The team of fly tyers that make the Guanaja Fly Tyers Guild is instructed and led by Dave McKenna. They work daily to make the custom tied flies you can purchase through our website. They are self managed and work with an entrepreneurial approach to their business of fly tying.
Through the challenges of passing hurricanes and the Covid-19 pandemic, they have persevered and worked with pride to make the flies we offer here.
We all thank you sincerely for the support and orders that have helped bring the entire team through the hardest parts of the past year. We are very excited to share our newest flies and designs with you!
