Beginner's Essential Trout Fly Kit
Starting out in the sport of fly fishing can be overwhelming. We believe new anglers should focus the fundamentals of casting, drift, presentation, and landing fish with a simple, productive fly box.
Our team has decades of experience guiding, outfitting, and mentoring new fly anglers. The KISS principle really makes a big difference during those critical first few years on the water. We like to build a box around flies that will increase the new angler's chances of catching a fish during the widest range of conditions.
Flies like Soft Hackle Pheasant Tails, San Juan Worms, Zebra Midges, and Elk Hair Caddis are classics for a great reason. Trout can't resist them and they work most of the year when presented properly.
Most new fly anglers cringe at the thought of learning Latin to figure out what fly "matches the hatch." Our Beginner Fly Kit takes the Latin out of learning to fly fish. They also work great in tandem once you get that drift figured out!
Dave McKenna will personally hand select each kit, so if you need a particular color or have a special request, leave a note at checkout or send us an email and we'll do our best to customize your kit!
